Why?

Because I wanted to be able to find other people with skills like mine, and also people who I might want to work with in future, and in my opinion the best place to find the right mix of people is probably hacker news. In the past few weeks numerous google spreadsheets had been set up by people for others to add their details to, only for them to be trashed by trolls. There had to be a better way for Hacker Newsers to find each other. Hopefully this is it.

No., we cache everything and take steps to avoid causing a burden on the hacker news server.

The site was built by Charles Pick using the Yii PHP Framework. Development time was about 12hrs including design, and a bit longer to write this text that you're reading right now with your eyes.
